I loathe the Green Green Grass of Home by Tom Jones - I lived in Malta when it came out and the forces broadcasting service used to have a request for it in every single programme by homesick listeners - I hated it to begin with but repeated and repeated? Shocked I'd dive for the off switch until i judged it was over!

D.I.V.O.R.C.E and other schmaltzy, sickly, syrupy, insincere country and western songs have the same effect.

I have quite an aversion to depressing R&B. It's just not my cup of tea, and much of it sounds the same. I know this sounds generalistic, and I don't mean to be, as I really love some R&B, but when I go round someone's and they're playing it constantly, I feel like its sapping my energy, making me turn into a pile of jelly...lol...hard to explain, but I'm sure you catch my drift! lol

My sister absolutely hates the song from the coca cola advert (I wish I could share...), the new one, and my mum hates some of the music I play such as when it has too much guitar in, etc. Think I scarred her for life though blasting it out when I lived at home.

I pretty much like everything. If I think of some real hates, I'll let you know.

All rap, and anything by Kylie Minogue.

I'm with Wilso on the rap. It just makes my skin crawl and I have to join Edgar with Toby Keith as well. I like only one of his songs and I detest him enough to wish someone else sang it.

Those "scatty" jazz numbers, where the singer improvises in all sorts of weird & wonderful ways!

Yes I agree, Rap and Michael Jackson are irritating just for startersÂ…but the song that is most irritating to me is "Every time I Look At you I go Blind" by by 54-40 Twisted Evil

Electric Avenue, I have no idea who sings it, and I have no idea why I find it so annoying.

Pan

Good choice for an annoying song.

I did like Eddie Murphy's version, as Buckwheat.

MacArthur Park
Anything by Air Supply or Journey
The Lion Sleeps Tonight
Don't Worry, Be Happy (Bobby misused his talent here, IMO. I was much more impressed seeing Stanley Jordan live choosing Stairway to Heaven as an encore)
Stairway to Heaven Laughing

I should add:

Love Hurts by the truly inimitable Nazareth
Anything by Chicago past the first album
Anything by the J. Geil's Band
Come on Eileen
Most of the popular songs in the 80s including:
Tarzan Boy
Video Killed the Radio Star
Shy Boy by the bodacious but talentless Bananarama....

Nice thread. I could rant all day. Wink
