I have this piece of soapstone with a small piece of metallic ore in it. Not magnetic I tried putting a tiny neo magnet on a string i didn't see anything moving. it's very hard to I cannot scratch it

If its not magnetite, Its more than likely chromite or a bit of graphite or titanium. All can be common n serpentinites.
Id guess chrome fist. The yellow color on the first photo is kind of a light giveaway.
Look up some field tests or find a school with an x ray diffraction tool, and have it scanned. Take about 15 minutes and youll get a match report on a tape
