Interpretation (of symbols, for examples) is a part of grasping and appreciating a poem. A poem is not simply an idea but a totality of a language expression. If a type of language differs, a "translated" poem or verse functions differently in the readers' mind.

Poetry is the soul expressing itself without the limits of religion. Smile

Without limits ... I like that.

(Welcome to A2K, Palehorse, a very neat idea).

But now, poetry... Is poetry something within yourself that you express to the external world,
or something from the world, that you see and appreciate as it comes to you in beauty?

Welcome to A2K palehorse.

As Robert Frost observed, poetry is a medium in which we can say one thing, and mean another.

In all possibility poetry is translateable so long as it is not mistaken as an accurate representation of the aim of the original poet- it should instead be seen as a new poem on the same subject matter
