@Sturgis,
I've walked past there many times. Never went in. Are they run by new management or just went down hill in quality?

@tsarstepan,
I think they've gotten too big for their britches. Too much publicity, which begat mild fame. Still nice quality, still make stuff there and always open. Most of the workers are friendly.

So you were at the bar next door on a pub crawl or just scurrying to a club in the old meat market district?

I'm legally not hip enough (or have enough bank) to scurry to a club in the Meatpacking District.

Can't remember what kind of errands I was running when I was in that area.

@laughoutlood,
Donut Machine is a name that doesn't seem to be in use (donut store wise). Not sure if it would be a good ironic hipster name for a donut shop or a terrible name if taken at face value and people assume that the donuts are overpriced, fast food donuts mass produced and pretty tasteless.

@tsarstepan,
You need to make some of those!

(and then figure out what to do with all the leftover eggwhites)

I'm hooked on the nearby grocery store's apple fritters. Sooooo good and fresh and inexpensive. $1.39 for one hand-size monster. $2.49 for 2 (if there are enough left for them to package them in pairs).

@tsarstepan,
That's absurd! Making donuts? Why? Anybody who is anybody knows donuts grow in boxes and on shelves of donut shops...

...don't they?!?!?!?!?

@Sturgis,
No. Donuts grow on trees.

Chopping down donut trees contributes to global climate change. Mad
