I received this rather beatiful rock from my mother after she returned from a trip to North Africa, and I am wondering if any knows what it exactly is? I tried to do some research on my own, but it's rather difficult for a layman like me to come up with a reliable identification of the type of mineral. Below are some pictures. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

@TheRafe,
Rafe, obsidian flies to mind but it's only a guess

....'cuz the bottom two are surely quartz. Just hang in there as we have some guys really good at this sort of stuff

@TheRafe,
I was thinking pyrite and quartz, but I'm unsure.

@TheRafe,
Some of it looks like magnetite.

Hi guys, thanks a lot for the replies! Maybe I should mention that the pictures all show the same rock. It is one rock; I would say the size of two fists...

I did the magnetism test by the way. Came out negative. It doesn't attract the magnet...

Farmerman (geologist) is likely to show up, but he's a busy guy, so patience is a virtue.

@TheRafe,
He is. Might be traveling or just back and taking care of stuff - he actually does farm as well.

Titanite on Rutile after Ilmenite and with Microcline most likely.

@TheRafe,
Titanite is probably the yellowish green Hue in your specimen
