I was bouncing around the site today and suddenly it hit me -- Eva's birthday is in a couple of weeks! And I think it's one of the big ones, 30 or 40 or something like that.

She's been biting her nails a lot lately, staring at the clock, and, well, tipping the bottle. I think the poor woman is a wreck.

Thus this thread. Try to compliment her. Say things like, "Hey, Eva, you're lookin' great!" or "Hello, is your mother home? Wait, oh my goodness, it's you, Eva. I thought it was your daughter answering the door!"

You know, stuff like that.

She's been around here for a good long time and deserves a little kindness once in a while.

After her birthday has come and gone, we'll resume picking on her.

I think that Eva is the most beautiful young woman I've ever known.

How's that, Gus? Do you think the old broad'll buy it?

Is this true, Gus? Is it truly the nearly natal day of our ever nascent Venus?

She looks better than good - she is transcendent!

She is like Aphrodite rising from the foam, isn't she?

You know, dlowan, I think both of our lives are richer from knowing Eva, the Corn Queen of Nebraska.

Well golly darn, she HAS to be transcendent, she lives in OklaDamnHoma you know, hell, she has to be transcendent just to get out of bed in the morning.(at least on those mornings she gets out of bed) I am sorely amazed she hasn't offed herself yet.

You guys are cruel. Cruel, I say.

Only a True Goddess could find it in her heart to forgive you.

<tap, tap, tap>.....<thinking>

I shall consider it.

Meanwhile, you have two and a half weeks to think of fitting apologies and tributes. No half-hearted daisy bouquets, CZs or cheap wine will do. This is a big one. I turn 50 on October 3.
