@farmerman,
My dad grew up during the Radio Days and tried to get my brother and I to appreciate radio over TV. It worked with me, not so much my brother. We also used to listen to a show called "Suspense." It featured dramatizations of stories by authors like Ray Bradbury. Scared the hell of me when I was 6 or 7. The best part of NPR are series like "This American Life" and "Radio Lab."

@edgarblythe,
The"Big Broadcast" is a collection of radio dramas and comedies from the 40', and 50's. These are always complete shows nd the "BB" ends up with an hour long drma from some of the best radio seris, like SUSPENSE, Radio Mystery Theater, Radio Classics, nd Inner Sanctum.

Ive taken to working on my pintings usually on a long Sunday night annd have the radio (via the Wifi) providing me some audio entertainment.

The University of Delaware has a good strong signal radio station (We re only about 55 miles N of the U of D and they have some really good jazz and blues on FM. Im sure they have a good signal.

I believe most college radio stations are PBS affiliates. Id love to check out other college radio tations throughout US and Canada. (I do listen a lot to CBC St John via puter)

@ehBeth,
neat!. I think I read all of the Nero Wolfe books and came very very close to joining one of those Nero Wolfe beer clubs.
Id probably be some 65 year old, basement dwelling gamer had I done it.

@ehBeth,
I worked in Montreal and I was very much surprised how much air time was given to radio plays and spoken word. I still listen to CBC online, and wish we had something like it here in Texas.
