Gladys Knight and the Pips
"Midnight Train to Georgia"
If anyone else would like to participate, find a song about a state, a city or a region of the United States. Everyone is welcome.
"New York, New York" by Lisa Minnelli
Gotta start with Boston.
Weird thing about this song is that it's become a Red Sox victory song, but
when you listen to the lyrics, there's not much good about Boston in them.
The Standells - Dirty Water
Representin' Pennsylvania.
@George,
Leaving Boston and heading out along the Mass Pike.
Now the first of December was covered with snow
And so was the turnpike from Stockbridge to Boston.
James Taylor -- Sweet Baby James
Lots of good songs here that i was thinking of, in particular, Sweet Baby James. Thanks folks.
Art Garfunkel and Paul Simon, "America."
Woody Guthrie's famous song . . .
This one by the Jackson 5 didn't get a lot of play back in the day - "Goin Back to Indiana". That little guy and his brothers could just flat perform.
