From the Mass Pike to the NY State Thruway, which pretty much follows the
route of the Eire Canal.
We've hauled some barges in our day
Filled with lumber, coal, and hay
And every inch of the way we know
From Albany to Buffalo.
Cleveland!
DC, San Antone, and the Liberty Town, Boston and, uh, Baton Rouge.

It winds from Chicago to L.A.,
More than two thousands miles all the way.
Get your kicks on Route 66.
Well goes through St. Louie, Joplin Missouri.
Oklahoma city looks oh so pretty.
You'll see Amarillo and Gallup, New Mexico
Flagstaff, Arizona, don't forget Winona,
Kingman, Barstow, San Bernadino.
Would you get hip to this kindly tip
And go take that California trip
Get your kicks on Route 66.
I drove from Chicago to LA as the song says, but not along Rte. 66.
We took the Interstates that follow more or less the same route.
Faster, but fewer kicks.
