I see the US death toll in Iraq topped one thousand today. I find this astonishing. Do Americans like this? Will they re-elect the man responsible for this blood bath? What was the final toll in Viet Nam?
I too find this astonishing! I believe the Vietnam toll topped 56,000 killed and no one knows how many damaged (estimates for Iraq top 12,000)!
I see the country divided again, but in a different way - some people love Bush and, of course, will vote to re-elect him. Many others hate Bush, but don't love Kerry! (I say I am not voting for Kerry; I am voting against Bush).
IMHO, this is an ill-conceived war with no on-going or exit strategy in spite of what people in govt. want us to believe.
