Hey, im hoping to travel to australia for a year and will be applying for a visa. I am British. However, unfortunatly I got into a wee bit of trouble a few weeks ago. I have been charged with disorderly behaviour and behaviour likely to lead to a breach of the peace. I am fighting the charges as it was ridiculous. I was just wondering if I will still be able to get a visa if found guilty???
Any help much appreciated
Welcome to A2K keith...you're not any relation to McTag are you?
hehehehe, panzade!
Nevertheless, welcome keith169, and good luck for getting some info!
If you do have a criminal record you must declare it on your visa application and it is taken into account, but the charges you describe are fairly minor. That and the fact you are British make it unlikely you would be refused a visa, especially if you are planning to come as a 'backpacker'. Please note though that you have to be under 30 to get one of those visas.
You'll be fine - just don't go to Bondi
