The report contains five sections. It has been written in this manner to facilitate reading.

Is it correct to say:

The report contains five sections. It has been so written to facilitate reading.

If not, is there a more concise way of saying "in this manner?" Thanks.

Yes, it is correct to use 'so written' instead of 'written in this manner'. You could also use 'thus written'. You could even combine the two sentences into one: "The report has been written in five sections to facilitate reading."

..., leaving open the possibility that some other factor than the number of sections might apply
