Edits take a long time because of the database size, not because of traffic, so that is a bit of a different issue (edits and deletes).
Eventually editing and such might need to be changed or removed.
It may come down to eliminating keyword search or editing.
Ooh. Hope not.
90 seconds is fine, really!
I actually go to google to search this site for old posts I'm looking for. It's a bit faster for me.
Thanks Craven! I'm still curious about one thing. Why does the dump seem to be happening more quickly these days?
I don't know, I have not experienced it and don't use A2K much these days. Could be the additional server load.
Whatever the cause, it's been really bad lately. I've logged on several times to find two or more pages, and all seem to disappear while I'm looking at one.
eyep, tonight was a bad night. It seemed to refresh every 5 or so minutes for a while there. I had to leave. But, it seems better now.
I was working on it for a while just now, so tonights problems are related to me dumping the sessions table repeatedly.
I have repeatedly asked for information to help solve elusive connection issues and thus far have only one response (not enough to even try to identify a pattern).
But I have worked on a change to phpbb session code that might help, please let me know how things go tomorrow.
dumped 2x i'll be keeping an eye I use it the most
Okiedokie Craven! It's good to know you're doing it on purpose. Thanks. And, if I could help you I would, but my eyes started glazing over by the time I got to "phpbb session code".
I'll try to remember, Craven. Thanks. What sort of information can I provide?
I made a quick list here:

I'll write up more on this in the future when I have time.
Still not getting any info to use (even if it is to say the problems ceased) so I'm closing the thread.
I'll lock it so that future instances get their own threads, as the times this kind of thing appear are extra important with transitive issues.
In any case more changes were made (to DNS) that might help.
