Can someone with experience with hangouts please describe the procedure for RECEIVING a scheduled video call? I have been trying to get it right, and mostly failing. Should the recipient be up and running with Hangouts, video on, or should he or she wait for the computer to "ring"? What am I supposed to do?

@Birck Cox,
Neither; it's not really analogous to a phone call. Rather, it's a meeting that you join.

Next time, go to the URL you have been given, and join. You can ask for a reminder from the meeting organizer if you feel you'll be late, or just make your own in your calendar.

When I saw 'google hangouts' I immediately thought it was a medical problem, but now see that it is to do with modern technology.

Anyone else coming in here looking for a medical answer, I can tell you that I solved my hangouts by simply changing my style of underwear,

Hope this helps.
