How to get a good mattress for someone heavy?

I am a big guy and want to get a new mattress. My weight is some 300 pounds. Understanably, I do not enjoy mattresses that can't really hold me. I've a lot of beds but I felt the base of the bed all too often.

Apparently, rummaging in bins in London is the answer.

@Setanta,
I have taken your advice, and found a beauty.

Once dried out, it should accommodate me, the better half AND the resident greyhound.

Does anyone know how to remove yellow staining?

I'd be interested to know why he has lots of beds . . . er, maybe not.

Over here, Beds is also an abbreviation of Bedfordshire.

Maybe he owns a lot of land round that way?

I have a mate who is 6'7", and is the shortest of four brothers. His Mum is over six feet, as is his sister.
When they were all still living at the family home (late 70's), they had one heck of a job finding beds and mattresses long enough for them.

They finally found a manufacturer round the back of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club who was willing to make bedframes and mattresses to order, but it cost them a small fortune to kit out their entire family.

I also remember them getting a builder in to extend the height of the door frames (which meant new tailor made doors to fit) as they were fed up with banging heads.
