I hoped to join a discussion on the terrorist attacks on Brussels. Has anyone started a discussion about this recent attack/slaughter on unarmed civilians in Brussels?

@glitterbag,
Not that I know.

@ossobuco,
Jo, we can build off this one, I just think Americans need to digest all the facts, realize that European nations don't have an integrated security or police network

@glitterbag,
I'm not all so sure ours or anyone else's is all that better.

To me, the mix in the world of both the internet and available, even offered weapons, combined with anger, is a driving force.

Or not.
Lately I'm reading new ISIS recruits are into a kind of community.

The latest attacks and arrests seem to be cementing the fact that the days of AQ planning for years to pull off a huge disaster are long gone. The new model is to strike at any whim and watch the worlds guts wrench.

Also the fact that Europe will have to change, invest more in security, change traveling procedures and greatly increase the sharing of information among authorities between countries. Immigration will not be the least under the magnifying glass for certain as well.

Sad for the European countries which have tried to be cohesive in accommodating all walks of life and absorbing migrant crisis.

@glitterbag,
Even within Belgium they do not have an intergrated police network.
As far as I have heard not even within the different German states.
How can Europe have integrated police with all the different languages?
If a German police car is chaching a criminal, who drives over another European border they are not allowed to follow.
No borders for criminals and others, but for police. They cannot even cross the border and call for the police in the country they now are in.
In Sweden crimes commited by refugees were not even reported openly - only under number 271 (?) so noone would feel discriminated against.
