Should I be paying for my checked bag or not based on the travel policy below?
It was a 3 day corporate trip. I took this as that my dry cleaning/laundry would not be covered unless my trip was for more than 5 days and the other noted incidentals would be covered no matter what.

Travel Policy:
Incidentals –
Other reimbursable expenses include parking fees, road tolls, baggage check-in charges, gratuities to porters or bellhops, and dry cleaning/laundry if travel has been continuous for more than 5 days.

@Cdunn,
Contact HR and ask. The policy is not clearly written.

@Cdunn,
I read "if travel has been continuous for more than 5 days" as applying solely to "dry cleaning/laundry" so I read it as you are covered, but you should ask HR or accounting.

Me too, because of the comma after 'bellhops'. Part of my job is writing stuff like this and you learn to do it a way that minimises the phone calls, e.g. with bullet points:

Other reimbursable expenses include:
* Parking fees
* Road tolls
* Baggage check-in charges
* Gratuities to porters or bellhops
* Dry cleaning/laundry if travel has been continuous for more than 5 days.

We don't reimburse gratuities (for one thing, how do you account for them?)

If you need to check luggage for a 3-day trip, you're doing it wrong!

@Cdunn,
Just how much stuff can you possibly need for a 3-day trip?
