The Blessed Virgin Mary was the first cousin of Elisabeth. Matthew 1:15-16 state:
15 "And Elihud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;"
16 "And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ."

This is the genealogy of Mary. Matthew 1:16 should read "And Jacob begat Mary, of whom born Jesus, who is called Christ." The parents of Mary are Hoakin and Ana (Pasiong Mahal, page 12). Hoakin is Filipino name of Jacob.
