I spent a year in a host family in VA. They used to sing a prayer before supper. It was half in hebrew, half in english. Unfortunately, I don't remember the words. Can anybody help me? I think it was called "Hamozi" or something like that...
I thought ha'aretz was meant as 'country' or 'land', as in 'the Holy Land'. But I bet you're right Phoenix  My Hebrew is nothing (I guess three words or so).
Or was the Holy Land Eretz Yisrael?
Eretz is "land" or "earth", according to the context. So "Eretz Yisroel" would be "the land of Israel"
"Ha" added to a word is "the"., so "haeretz" would be "the land"

Your Hebrew may be rusty, which I doubt, but you got this one right.
We have a prayer for everything. And I have always had a special prayer before going to bed. That is my wife does not have a headache tonight.
