@Letty,
I found a version that was written down by my uncle in 1940
ONCE I WENT IN SWIMMING
Once I went in swimming,
Where there were no wimmin'
Down beside the sea;
Seeing no one there,
I hung up my underwear
Upon a willow tree.
Then I dove into the water,
Just like Pharo's daughter,
In the Nile:
Someone saw me there,
And stole my underwear,
And left me with a smile!
