Ever wonder about the date historically? Here's a couple of things:
September 11, 1973 In Chile, General Pinochet overthrew the democratically elected government of Salvador Allende in a CIA-backed coup. "I don't see why we need to stand by and watch a country go communist due to the irresponsibility of it's own people" - Henry Kissinger
September 11, 1922 The British gov't proclaimed a mandate in Palestine, a follow-up to the Balfour declaration which promised European zionists a national home for jewish people.
September 11, 1990 President George Bush announced to a joint session of Congress his intent to go to war against Iraq.
I've got a brother and a niece with the same birthday. Imagine how horrid and frightening it must have been to give birth on that date in 2001?
I know a girl who's birthday is at September 11. Indeed, not a nice day to celebrate your birthday.
Also the 11th March ; Madrid Train Attacks.
Which was 911 days after 9-11 (NO KIDDING - or at least, that's what our newspaper said some time ago).
not only your newspaper, rather all in Europe.
What I actually thought was that our local newspaper had to fill up some space and kinda made it up
Hmm, I hadn't realized that, Thok. Interesting.
With 191 dead persons.
Today was in south Spain a remembrance, again.
