Voices you love to hear...

I just finished listening to some Lou Rawls and was thinking, man I love how this man's voice just strokes my ears! He's not what you would call a primo vocalist, but he just "hits it" for me. Janis Joplin is far from a diva, but to me she is one of the queens of the "chill factor". Oh yeah, ......and Patti Labelle makes me weak in the knees...

Who does it for you?

Off the top of my head:

Paul Kelly, Oz singer/song writer's voice is so familiar it's like an old friend. Lovely voice, great lyrics!

Michael Stipe's remains a favourite. So expressive of so many emotions, such a terrific communicator through song. Love it!

And a surprise one: I heard Patsy Cline on my car radio this morning .. "I'm crazy for crying, I'm crazy for trying ..." What a superb voice!

Paul Kelly is coming here in a month and I plan to go and see him (I have a few friends in Oz, msolga so I'm familiar with his work!!)

David Quincy Matthews... is that Dave Matthews or someone I'm not familiar with, SCoates? Interested.

I think I've got it, jasmine! : You've been "romantically involved" with an Australian! How else could you know all you know from where you are?

msolga, I've had the honour of knowing someone from Perth, (always there in my heart) another from Mt. Isa (a woman who means the world to me), a great Aussie from Bairnsdale who always knows how to laugh and make me laugh, and a musical "genius" from Rockhampton.... and consider them all "bulk ace". There are a quite a few Aussies who are SO special to me!
