But rosie you're all right -- you wear my ring
When you hold me tight -- rosie that's my thing
When you turn out the light -- I've got to hand it to me
Looks like it's me and you again tonight rosie

"Nothing like the saint you are."

beautiful song...one of many written by Danny O'Keefe a mostly forgotten artist of the 70's.

He wrote Jackson Browne's "The Road" and "Good Time Charlies Got The Blues"

The only song I like by this group; completely ignored by everyone:

"Somewhere to the south of New York City
Lies the friendly state of Tennessee,
Down in Nashville town I met a pretty
Who made a pretty big fool out of me."

"She wants to lead the glamorous life
She doesn't need a man's touch
She wants to lead a glamorous life
Without love it ain't much"

Sheila E, circa 1988 (?)

You say yes, I say no
You say stop and I say go, go, go
Oh, no
You say goodbye and I say hello
Hello, hello
I don't know why you say goodbye
I say hello
Hello, hello
I don't know why you say goodbye
I say hello

Charlie's wife goes down
To the Scollay Square Station
Every day at quarter past two
And through the open window
She hands Charlie a sandwich
As the train comes rumblin' through.

Aimee Mann-

We got back in the car and listened to a Dylan tape

we drove around the fields until it started getting late

and I went back to my hotel room on the highway

and he just got back in his car and drove away

Coming up close

everything sounds like welcome home ,,,come home

Heard this again, for the first time in ages, on my car radio today. I'd forgotten what a terrific piece of music it was/still is! It's been playing in my head since.:

Oh, it's so funny to be seeing you after so long, girl
And with the way you look, I understand that you were not impressed
But I heard you let that little friend of mine
Take off your party dress
I'm not gonna get too sentimental
Like those other sticky valentines
'Cause I don't know if you are loving some body
I only know it isn't mine

Allison, I know this world is killing you
Oh, Allison, my aim is true

Well, I see you've got a husband now
Did he leave your pretty fingers lying in the wedding cake?
You used to hold him right in your hand
Ah, but he took all that he could take
Sometimes I wish that I could stop you from talking
When I hear the silly things that you say
I think somebody better put out the big light
'Cause I can't stand to see you this way

Allison, I know this world is killing you
Oh, Allison, my aim is true
My aim is true
My aim is true
