My husband's name is in green in NY, Mass., Florida and California and that's about it. Since there are a bunch of variant spellings for it, the figure is probably a lot higher. My maiden name isn't even on the list.
As for my hyphenated last name, I strongly suspect it's 1 in 7 billion or however many people there are. :-D
Mine is red, brown or yellow for the whole country.
A lot of you here, wilso!
One light green patch in the north.
It's prolly mostly northern european and indian decent up there.
What's that bit down at the bottom left of the map???
The part unattached? Alaska.
Wilso - I just looked again. The big chunk with the tail-looking thing is Alaska, but to it's right, the little string of islands is Hawaii.
Mine didn't show up. Why?
The site only does the top 10,000 or so surnames. (That number may be wrong, but it's true that the site's database is not exhaustive.)
Yowza, I found a name that gives a dark blue (one in 10,000) result in every state!
Farrel.
Anybody found all red yet?
Burns is all green (one in a thousand) every state!
Smith has got about half the country red. I can't imagine there being any more for any others.
The "all years" is interesting. You can watch how the distribution has changed.
My maiden name (Bond-no relation) is Blue all over including Hawaii and Alaska. My married name isn't listed.
