We all have different views on everything. If you have 100people, you'll have at least 100ways to love another, to believe how the universe works and so on. Yet, we try and define ourselves and put some sort of tangible tag on our set of believes. We attempt to communicate them through language, hoping this will suffice or at least help us broaden our views. That's the whole point of communicating.

But, what exactly do you believe? Take the test

And let me know, I wonder. From my point of view, we'd all have my 'score' if you're a ration being. Of course, I hope, the results will vary.

Bringing the topic to me :p

My score
1. Unitarian Universalism (100%)
2. Mahayana Buddhism (94%)
3. Liberal Quakers (88%)
4. Neo-Pagan (86%)
5. Taoism (84%)
6. Theravada Buddhism (84%)
7. New Age (80%)
8. Hinduism (78%)
9. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (70%)
10. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (66%)
11. Secular Humanism (63%)
12. New Thought (63%)
13. Scientology (63%)
14. Jainism (57%)
15. Orthodox Quaker (45%)
16. Sikhism (45%)
17. Bahá'í Faith (42%)
18. Nontheist (41%)
19. Reform Judaism (38%)
20. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (29%)
21. Seventh Day Adventist (25%)
22. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (21%)
23. Jehovah's Witness (20%)
24. Orthodox Judaism (15%)
25. Eastern Orthodox (12%)
26. Islam (12%)
27. Roman Catholic (12%)

Which of course, leads me to more questions...

I wonder, what the real difference is between Unitarian Universalism and free(meaning: unbound from all religious crap. Just understanding and compassion) zen-buddhism. I doubt there is any, but they like to distanciate themselves from it for some reason.
What do Universists think about followers of faith-based religions, such as Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism and others?
Universists recognize and firmly assert the fundamental human right of freedom of religion. Because of the subjective nature of Universism, its adherents hold diverse beliefs, and it is therefore very open-minded about religious matters. Universism actively encourages all to respect the rights of others to their own beliefs. However, Universists are concerned that the religious intolerance inherent in the language and actions of adherents to fundamentalist religions has a destructive effect on society and the planet. These negative effects include discrimination, ignorance, hatred, and violence. Universism aims to teach, to challenge, and to bring a positive vision of meaning and purpose to the greater community, as a viable alternative philosophy to the teachings of revealed religion.

The Principles of the Unitarian Universalist Association

"We, the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association, covenant to affirm and promote:

The inherent worth and dignity of every person
Justice, equity and compassion in human relations
Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations
A free and responsible search for truth and meaning
The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large
The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all
Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part

Note: When asked in what do I believe, I always reply: 'I don't believe in anything' or 'I believe in nothing'. But the second reply usually is given when I'm feeling buddhist, referring to nothingness Wink

Dyslexia, How did you get that?

Somehow this page pegged me as a Liberal. My father raised me as a liberal Quaker. My mother was a conservative Baptist but that's another story. It looks like my father won out.

1. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (100%)
2. Liberal Quakers (98%)
3. Bahá'í Faith (93%)
4. Unitarian Universalism (93%)

I came up 100 neo pagan and 89% Liberal Quaker.
I know nothing of either of these religions.

I also feel that like other pop tests of this kind, there are many anwers that you have to choose that don't really completely correspond with your beliefs and yet are the closet choice.

I just hope I can get heavenly community service.

Read all about Quakers here.

www.quaker.org

My father was a liberal quaker when I was growing up, so I know a fair amount about this religion. It is characterized by silent worship instead of services. There are no preachers or any such thing. They are also known for very strict pacifism.

I don't know very much about the "orthodox" quakers. I believe on difference is that they have a clergy and more traditional worship services.

Damn ... here I thought sure I'd score higher on Non-Theist and Neo-Paganism. If I thought it would do any good, I'd rush out and sacrifice a poll-taker or somethin', in hopes of bettering myself. Oh well ... at least it seems this test ranks me pretty high in "Pacifism" (3rd place) and in "Liberalism" (4th place). That's refreshing; I don't get told that much Mr. Green
