News Item: "Iraq War 'Unjustifiable', says Bush's Methodist Church Head
President George Bush's own Methodist church has launched a scathing attack on his war against Iraq, saying they are 'without any justification according to the teachings of Christ'.
Jim Winkler, head of social policy for United Methodists, added that all attempts at a 'dialogue' between the President and his own church over the war had fallen on deaf ears at the White House."
How does Bush sleep at night? Is he truly a believer? I often wondered how Bush reconciles this--his church is against the war.
Yet he prides himself on being a member of the church.
Why haven't we heard more of this in the media?
It seems like a lot of people like to think its a Christian God, Bush, and America vs. the evil Iraq Muslims (though they never come out and admit this).
Yet clearly, even Bush's church is against the war. Is this war the Christian thing to do?
tcis, What mystifies me the most is how Bush was responsible for the killing of over 10,000 innocent Iraqi men, women and children, and he still sleeps at night. No conscience? And he calls himself a christian? What ever happened to "thou shalt not kill?"
The supposedly liberal media has given Bush a very long pass, don't you think?
tcis- Interesting. Do you have a link to the story?
