That's what makes them unsuitable as house pets. Like, who wants a pet that thinks they're dumb.

hamburger just sent me the same story through a VOA link. Can't say I'm surprised. I've had to change how I talk about a lot of things with Setanta, so that the dogs don't twig.

If we could only get their furry little paws to either take up knitting or work the remote control, I think they'd be a lot less bored while we're all at work.
At one time, I had a German shepherd that learned down, sit, and heel in amazingly short time. Somehow, she never mastered "stay." I never pinned down the size of her vocabulary, but I'm sure it was over thirty words - mostly nouns.
