Very Happy

Moomins, I like 'Sissyneck,' too; that's a very unusual song. Beck was originally almost sued for it, because he used some Barbie doll saying something stupid at the start of it... Some people don't let anything go.

(Incidentally, what songs from SS come to mind as favourites, Smog?)

Not sure what I like from SS, since I haven't listened to it in a while. Ask again in 54 minutes and 30 seconds, and I'll be able to tell you. Smile

OK! Am I right in presuming that you bought it after Odelay?

Possibly... Well, yes. I'm that kind of guy... Smile

I'd say that I probably discover as much music as I pick up after hearing successful albums, though.

(O, that's good. The only people whom I know who bought SS first were a Polish Music teacher who thought that that was Beck's only 'decent album (!!!)--' I should write about him; he was a strange character-- and this awful guy whom I once knew, who was obsessed with his fantasies about Thomas Hardy's character, Bathsheba Evil or Very Mad.)

I do, too. I think that it is relatively rare to prefer albums found later rather than the first album that you bought; but it can lead to some surprising discoveries.)

Ready to state his favorite song from SS:

"The Spirit Moves Me"

(There have been a few bands whose earlier albums I purchased later and enjoyed more, but it hasn't happened in a while. Less than Jake and Soul Coughing are in this group.)

(How did I quote myself?? I didn't do that.)

Wow! That's my favourite too! I love the pedal guitar on that track.

I agree with you about Soul Coughing's earlier work... I haven't heard about 'Less than Jake;' do you like them lots?

(You probably hit "quote" instead of "edit.")

(His voice and lyrics are very good on that track too.)

(Less than Jake is off the ska/punk genre, and they have been my favorite, and sometimes only, band of that type for 8 or 9 years, so I'd say that I am a loyal LTJ fan, yes.)

(A; that makes sense. I do things too quickly.)

(I agree. Also, it's one of the few songs that seem... controlled... on SS.)

(Do they still play? I find it sad when a band can't match their early recordings...)

(Read 'A' as 'so,' to give some semblance of order to my ramblings.)

Tells drĂ²m that Less than Jake is still recording, touring, and rockin'. I probably prefer at least one of their current recordings to their earlier ones. I bought "Losing Streak" first, then "Pezcore" and "Losers, Kings, and Things We Don't Understand" after that, and thought that "Pezcore" was my favorite. But since, I have grown fond of "Hello Rockview."

(Heh, it's important to at least feign order in these word games.)

Unusually-minded

Uu, you are right about word order. When did they start playing? Have you ever seen them in concert?
