Can't figure out what kind of rock or droppings this is.

We found this

about 15 feet below the surface in Colorado Springs. Extremely hard and durable. Not sure if it is a rock because has the look of maybe being droppings. Any help is much appreciated.

This looks like uranium which is part of Colorado's mining industry.
