8*8=64=1000 in binary.

Edit:
Embarrassed Made a stupid error. 1000 in binary is just 8, not 64.

1000 is 64 in base 4, not base 2.

or even more simply, the sum of 8/8 from n=1 to n=1000...

(ie. 8/8 + 8/8 + 8/8 + 8/8....one thousand times)

There are many ways.

(8888 - 888)/8 = 1000

8*8*8*sqrt(sqrt(8+8))-8-8-8 = 1000

8*(8*8+8*8)-8-8-8 = 1000

(8*8*8-8)*(8+8)/8-8 = 1000

((8*8*8)-8)*((8+8)/8)-8 = 1000

(888+8)/8 + 888 = 1000

((8+8)*8-(8+8+8)/8)*8 = 1000

Are there more ways?
