More referencing to the forthcoming Jubilee
Quote:
If triumphant, the Jubilee Motto over the Post-Office
door will not be " Vivat Regina!" but " Vivat Raikes!"

The Raikes in question was Henry Cecil Raikes appointed Postmaster General in Salisbury's government in 1886

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/ed/Henry_Raikes_Vanity_Fair_1875-04-17.jpg/220px-Henry_Raikes_Vanity_Fair_1875-04-17.jpg

"Raikes is one of the earliest British politicians to have had their voice recorded. George Edward Gouraud recorded him on behalf of Thomas Edison on the evening of 5 October 1888." Follow the link and you might be able to hear his voice. I've not managed to, but that doesn't mean anything.

Well, as you all know, I like to look back at happier times. I still look at the cosmic eagle saying my name:

Here's another great one, and today is her birthday:

@Olivier5,
Welcome back, Mon Ami. Didn't know Bijou, but loved those three songs by them.

Did the Mime get you back, or me. Smile

More synchronicity, because no one has to be a star to be on our radio.

@Letty,
I saw the mime when I was 20 something, in a theater in Paris. Great art but easy to poke fun at:

@Olivier5,
I knew that you had said that before, dear friend, and that's why I did him and dear Michael.

Here's another birthday guy, but first some info:

Brett Ryan Eldredge (born March 23, 1986) is an American country music singer signed to Atlantic Records Nashville. In 2013, the single "Don't Ya" hit Number One on the Country Airplay chart. He is the cousin of Terry Eldredge of The Grascals.

The Grascals? hilarious. Now the song:

Maybe my long time friend, edgar/ Mark will know him.

I had such a terrible attack of allergies last evening, and I hope it doesn't happen again, y'all. Going to say good afternoon with ABBA:

I never hear them that I don't think of izzie "the dancing queen"

Strange, I didn't realize that the four of them consisted of two men and two women.

Wonderful having England and France with us today, perhaps Ireland again tomorrow.

Sometimes Punch took a cause to its heart and joined in the campaign. This is a case in point where minor obstacles and tolls from vested interests hindered the free flow of traffic around the capital. Today traffic hinders the free flow of traffic around the capital.

Ah, I missed Latin George's two songs. They were both great, dear friend.

Today is Houdini's birthday, and I remember him because of Tony Curtis' remake.

He actually found the hole in the ice, because his mother called his name

@Olivier5,
Well, Mon Ami, I and our listeners enjoyed Le Volume by Karkwa. It was a bit long, but worth the listening.

Today is this guy's birthday, so here is a tribute:

Odd, I remember the name of the movie, but not the plot.
