@edgarblythe,
I had no idea that the Ames Brothers did that 4 leaf clover, Mark. Love it.

Well, Today is this man's birthday, but first some info:

Eddie Money (born Edward Joseph Mahoney; March 21, 1949), is an American rock guitarist, saxophonist and singer-songwriter, who found success in the 1970s and 1980s with a string of Top 40 hits and platinum albums. Rock impresario Bill Graham said of Money, "Eddie Money has it all.... Not only can he sing, write, and play, but he is a natural performer."

Odd, because I was just looking at the photo of my brother who was in WWII and my daddy in WW I

Wow! Great one by Harry, and I'm assuming that he did that through a woman's mind, right?

Going to say good afternoon with ancient history.

Alexander III of Macedon, commonly known as Alexander the Great, was a King of the Ancient Greek kingdom of Macedon and a member of the Argead dynasty.

Now, the trailer to the movie:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IuEYgMPqwA4

As we all know, everything must be interpreted in the light of the setting event. That is what history is all about.

Good to have England with us. Maybe more countries tomorrow.

From Letty with love to the world.

Latin George, welcome back. I love Groovin by The Young Rascals as well as The Hollies doing Carrie and Anne. Odd, because one is my daughter and the other my older sister.

Another minute dream for me last evening. I climbed into someone's boat and I got mal de mer. My Carrie came up from the water with some dramimine. Sorry if the manuscripts have errors. I couldn't go back to sleep.

Here's a sad one by dear Elvis. Had no idea he did this one:

Now, a happy one by Sidney Poitier:

and a tribute to one of my favorite poets:

As we all know that wasn't the real Robert Browning, but someone's father.

Elvis did many gospel songs, letty. Amen is a newer song than many realize, but a great one.

@edgarblythe,
Always good to see our creator with us. Thanks edgar/Mark for "the king" doing Blue Moon. I finally found out that it's two full moons that create it.

Ah, I miss Merry Andrew and SGlass. In my minds eye, I can see her swiming in a pool of light.

A birthday guy now, and here is the theme:

Well, y'all, it was brunch for me today, but I love looking at the faces of people I have never met:

The Punch Man smiling, Bert and his lovely sister and wife.

Region, and his trio.

and, of course, people I have met. Ursula and her Swede: Bernice and her phoenix. Roger and his donkey. Smile

What a difference a day makes:

@edgarblythe,
Thanks Mark for the comment and personal acknowledgement.

I didn't know that one by "the jester", but it was different, buddy.

Here is one to match, but first some info:

Foster and Allen are a musical duo from Ireland consisting of Mick Foster and Tony Allen. In their 40-year career they have released over 30 albums, many of which entered the UK Albums Chart

More Jubilee news.

Quote:
Jubilee Interchanges.—The Queen gives the Pope a splendidly bound Vulgate, and
the Pope gives the Queen a magnificent Mosaic. Her Majesty's gift, however, has the
advantage of including the finest specimen of Mosaic work.

The Pope in question is Leo XIII

Quote:
Pope Leo XIII (2 March 1810 – 20 July 1903), born Vincenzo Gioacchino Raffaele Luigi Pecci to an Italian comital family, reigned from 20 February 1878 to his death in 1903. He was the oldest pope (reigning until the age of 93), and had the third longest pontificate, behind that of Pius IX (his immediate predecessor) and John Paul II. He is the most recent pontiff to date to take the pontifical name of "Leo" upon being elected to the pontificate.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pope_Leo_XIII

If, like me, you're rather puzzled at the 'joke' I think this definition of mosaic should be applied to the phrase the finest specimen of mosaic work.

Quote:
something resembling such a picture or decoration in composition, especially in being made up of diverse elements:
"a mosaic of borrowed ideas."

And if, like me, you haven't got a clue what a vulgate is here's Wikipedia.

The Vulgate (/ˈvʌlɡeɪt, -ɡɪt/) is a late fourth-century Latin translation of the Bible that became, during the 16th century, the Catholic Church's officially promulgated Latin version of the Bible.

Quote:
The translation was largely the work of St. Jerome, who, in 382, was commissioned by Pope Damasus I to revise the Vetus Latina ("Old Latin") collection of Biblical texts in Latin then in use by the Church. Once published, it was widely adopted and eventually eclipsed the Vetus Latina and, by the 13th century, was known as the "versio vulgata" [1] (the "version commonly-used") or, more simply, in Latin as vulgata or in Greek as βουλγάτα ("Vulgate").

@izzythepush,
Welcome back to you as well, Punch man. Thanks for all that information on a Latin and Greek version of the Bible and the Pope.

The King James version of the Bible is the very best.

Now a lovely version of Ave Maria as written by Schubert:

as edgar knows, one doesn't have to be a theist to enjoy hymns:

In my mind's eye, I can still see the lovely Found Soul holding Dutchy/ Danny. I had no idea, that the Pushman had given the book he had written to her to give to him.

@izzythepush,
I think that the "mosaic" pun is that the Pope gave an actual mosaic and the
Queen gave a Bible -- which would include books believed to have been
written by Moses and hence "Mosaic".

Shaka doing Dearly Departed was great. Didn't know it, so thanks again for the introduction.

Thinking of Ellinas now. I called him my pug nosed Greek. Smile
