Olivier5, Welcome back to you Mon Ami. The Girl and The Man in the Machine was interesting, but a bit risque.

edgar, as I noted, I didn't care for animals killin man or man killing animals. It was Steve's birthday, and that it why I played it. Loved The Platters doing Twilight Time.

Going to say good afternoon with three songs. First, one to match my Frenchman's:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0-2hlsvcEc

Now Perry doing a classic:

Now, Chopin being played by a fantastic pianist.

Good morning from a rather chilly radio station in Florida.

Thanks, edgar/Mark for playing The Navy Hymn. I was part of a trio that sang
that lovely song, and it was the only thing that I knew about the navy.

I had a minute dream again last night. I was on the beach and walked out on a dock and it collapsed. I could even feel the water. It reminded me of this song:

also reminded me of Smoky:

Where there's a will there's a way. As always lots of puns

Mr. Santley has been recently made a Knight of St.

beatified him at once, on account of his being so Santley ?
He was in excellent voice when he sang in Spohr's great
Oratorio, which, by the way, is a subject that does not
lend itself to any Spohr-tive remarks.

Sir Charles Santley (28 February 1834 – 22 September 1922) was an English-born opera and oratorio star with a bravura technique who became the most eminent English baritone and male concert singer of the Victorian era. His has been called 'the longest, most distinguished and most versatile vocal career which history records.'

Pope Leo XIII (2 March 1810 – 20 July 1903), born Vincenzo Gioacchino Raffaele Luigi Pecci to an Italian comital family, reigned from 20 February 1878 to his death in 1903. He was the oldest pope (reigning until the age of 93), and had the third longest pontificate, behind that of Pius IX (his immediate predecessor) and John Paul II. He is the most recent pontiff to date to take the pontifical name of "Leo" upon being elected to the pontificate.

@TheSubliminalKid,
Hey, Kid, welcome to our radio station. Love the golden oldies, and I especially enjoyed Charles Stanley and Mozart.

Your song reminded me of this fantastic vocalist:

My older sister first introduced him to me when she sent me a vinyl of Mario Lanza doing Caruso

Riddles were very popular with the Victorians, as evidenced by Lewis Carroll. Although the author is a "child" so perhaps they were a guilty pleasure.

Quote:
RIDDLE'S DICTIONARY.
Dear Mr. Punch -Dr. Buzzer's Strikeholm, Finchley.

I made up these two riddles last April, and I have deter-
mined to have them published. The fellows think them awfully
good. You may wish to know why I made them up. I was making
some mountains with a candle on the big map, when young Jones
came bothering, so I didn't notice that I was burning a hole in the
middle of Russia. Old Buzzer not only made me pay for a new map,
but I had to clean the Steppes of Tartary as well, which certainly
were in a beastly mess from the smoke of the candle, so I had to give
young Jones a licking, and anyhow I owed him one from last term.
I remain Yours never-having-done-anything-since-erely,

Joseph Mercator Miller. (M.)

P.S.—I have forgotten to send the riddles. Perhaps I had better
put in the answers, as the fellows say they are very hard.

(a) What is the difference between a Baronet making butter, and
a map on fire ?—One is a churning Bart., and the other is a burning
chart.

(b) What is the difference between a White Witch and a fire in a
map-room ?—One charms warts, and the other warms charts.
I will send you some more when I have made them up.—J. M. M.

Hey, Kid. I did riddles all the time when I was a kid Razz

I recall having drawn an eye and a stand and put the eye under the stand. (I understand all of your riddles)

What goes up must come down, reminds me of another. What goes up when the rain comes down? An umbrella.
