Once again, calling all poets, painters, musicians and music lovers.

Hope our edgar/Mark is all right. Never the twain shall meet? Hope not.

Today is this lady's birthday, so here are two songs by her, y'all.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBws6IHzr3Q

Now, since it appears to be cold everywhere, a theme by her:

You've played some good music this morning, letty. I didn't remember Andy Russell. Here is the song from a movie I watched last night.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, Mark, so glad that you are alright. I have watched that movie three times because I have always wondered how The Titanic really sank.

Thanks for your comment and personal acknowledge , dear friend.

In my mine's eye, I can see Celine and Leonardo De Caprio on the bow of the ship.

Here is her song, buddy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0VHr5I-3Bk

There is also The Titanic hymn to the sea which we will do laterr

I didn't sleep too well last evening as I was concerned about my daughter driving home. She arrived safely in spite of all the pouring snow.

Here are our two hymns for today. As edgar knows, one doesn't have to be a theist to appreciate the two lovely sons.

First, from the Titanic:

Now, one my daughter loves:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Snj9yR5Ae_k

I think we all know that Martin Luther did the original

You'd have to be of a certain age to remember this teenage tear-jerker:

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/$(KGrHqJ,!q!FBZQt+)FIBQlr1Mr45w~~60_1.JPG

Like so many other hits of that time- 1958, I believe-
it had fifteen minutes of fame before being pushed into
past tense by the next hit at the broadcast station.

Religion (and Republicanism) was as contentious then as it is now.

Quote:
The conduct of these Loafers—for Loafers they are,
and ill-bred too—who, smoking short-pipes, march to
Church and hiss the Prayer for the Queen and Royal
Family, and certain portions of the (to them) highly objec-
tionable and tyrannical decalogue, is somewhat akin to
reckless wreckers of pieces who visit our theatres on
first nights, determined to damn everything in a general
way, especially if they are actuated by some spite against
actor, author, or manager. Such loafers as these might
now call themselves the " New Church and Stage Guild,"
since, not satisfied with disturbing the people in the full
pit of a theatre, they will now disturb the parson in the
pulpit. If they are roughs "put up to it," let them be
strongly put down.

Good morning from here in our Florida radio station.

Loved all of your Sunday songs, folks. What edgar said Neko. Just another memory, however. Although our edgar deserves the best, we no longer use the rating system here as it doesn't match our forum.

edgar, Thanks for your comment and personal acknowledgement on Paul. I enjoyed The Shirelles.

Morgan, good to see you back with us and that bunch of gals doing Bang Bang was great.

Latin George, Dr. John does a good job with that one, but I prefer Johnny Mercer.

Pullman, as I have often noted, politics breeds strange bedfellows.

Forgive me if I missed some of the contributions, as I have been having a few computer problems today.

How about Peggy Lee, y'all:

It's Sonny Bono's birthday, and Al did this one for him:

Ah, I thought that our edgar/Mark would like Jimmy Waklely

James Clarence "Jimmy" Wakely, was an American actor and country Western music vocalist, and one of the last singing cowboys

Saying good afternoon with three songs:

First, Bobby:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bRAtV-jgoQ

That was inspired by Charles Trenet.

Now, Ricky:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0janfcZ8LUw

Now, a Spanish guy doing Charles. (like it better by him)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HASYL4JWwBU

Great to have England with us today, and, of course dear Latin George.
Heard from my dear friends Roger, Bernice(phoenix) and Ursula and Stephan.

From Letty with love to the world
