Once again calling all musicians, music lovers, painters, etc.

Here's one that our edgar/mark will know.

The River of the Sky is fabulous. It's Garth's birthday.

Now I know why I like heavier guys. They protect slim Letty from harm.

Just heard from Bert Lee and he said that he and Josie were bundled like two bears in a cave, and it reminded me of this song:

Another tribute to a birthday girl.

Well, guess it's just me, myself and I again, but I no longer feel sad about.

Looking back in happier times when my late husband and I went to see Midnight in the Garden of good and Evil. Love Kevin Spacey and we sat there when the rest of the folks were leaving just to listen to Skylark. KD Lang did it but I prefer this lady:

Had no idea that Hoagy Carmichael wrote the music, and Johnny Mercer did the verses.

He does the preacher and the bear real good, letty. I never actually read Laura's books, but the TV series based on her characters had some good episodes.

This Buddy song was written by Bobby Darin.

@edgarblythe,
Mark, thanks for the comment and personal acknowledgement. That's why the rating system was banished.

Love Buddy Holly doing Early in the Morning. Buddy was the first actor to wear glasses on screen. Andrea Bocelli was the first blind mind not to wear glasses. As we all know, Don Mclean started his wonderful song because of Buddy, Richie, and The Big Bopper. "the day the music died"

Dear Bobby and Sandy. <sniff:>

As you know, I like Saturday Night Live but my favorite was Grease:

Here's another memory, y'all.

The two main topics this week are Lord Randolph's resignation (still,) and the prospect of war between France and Germany.

Quote:
WHO says "Young King Coal" is not consistent? Why, it seems from Lord RANDOLPH's Apologia that his hostility to the Coal Duties extends to the Coaling Duties- which latter most Englishmen consider to consist in provisions for the proper defence of our Coaling Stations.

Quote:
Fuelling stations, also known as coaling stations, are repositories of fuel (coal & later oil) that have been located to service commercial and naval vessels. Today, the term "coaling station" can also refer to coal storage and feeding units in fossil-fuel power stations.

Good SUNday here in our Florida radio Station.

edgar, Golf Brooks was funny and thanks for listening to my song and for the personal acknowledgement.

Didn't know Jose Cuervo, so thanks again for the introduction. He was great.

Hurry back, pullman, and you sent me searching:

Is this the one that you mean?

Old King Coel or Northern Britian:
Coel Hen, whose epithet can be translated as "the Old" or "the Ancestor", is noted in Welsh legend as a leader in the Hen Ogledd or "Old North", the Brythonic-speaking parts of southern Scotland and northern England during or after the period of the Roman withdrawal.

Love to learn here, folks.

The Navy hymn:

Now, a fond memory of my friend Bill:

and, y'all, Harry doing Scarlet Ribbons:

@edgarblythe,
Thanks, Mark, for your comment and personal acknowledgement. Wow! Red Sovine doing Little Joe almost brought tears to my eyes. What a fantastic story set to music.

Thinking of Noddy/Jill in happier times.

That also was done in a major key, but someone named "bear and bull market",
introduced to the one in a minor key.

Today is Jules Verne's birthday and I had no idea that he was French.

Here is a poem by him in English:

Greenland Song

Dark Is the sky,
The sun sinks wearily;
My trembling heart, with sorrow filled,
Aches drearily !
My sweet child at my songs is smiling still,
While at his tender heart the icicles lie chill.
Child of my dreams I
Thy love doth cheer me;
The cruel biting frost I brave
But to be near thee!
Ah me, Ah me, could these hot tears of mine
But melt the icicles around that heart of thine!
Could we once more
Meet heart to heart,
Thy little hands close clasped in mine,
No more to part.
Then on thy chill heart rays from heaven above
Should fall, and softly melt it with the warmth of love!

Somehow, Jules reminded me of Kirk:

Well, we had England with us yesterday. Where is France and Scotland?

I had hoped that Olivier5 would come in and comment on Jules Verne.

Wonder if Scotland's burning?

That's quite a variety of music, letty. I used to try to be on the James Dean bandwagon, but he doesn't really hold the same memories for me that a lot of other departed actors hold. Not putting him down, at all, you understand.

I asked my friends about her but all their lips were tight.

edgar/Mark, I love the sassy Miss Sarah doing Broken Hearted Melody, and thanks again for your comment and personal acknowledgement. I know that your comment on James Dean is honest and true.

Latin George, Just as I, music will warm your heart, just as some photos do mine. Hope I didn't get the wrong song, but was that Little Richard singing?

Saying good afternoon with two versions of the same hymn.

First, an oriental version. (maybe yee wan will enjoy it)
