Nat has the classic version of Stardust, one of the finest songs and recordings I know.
Buttermilk Sky brings a pleasant memory from childhood - Listening to it then.

@edgarblythe,
Hurry back, Mr. Creator, and thanks for the comment on what I played yesterday.

As you know, it was Johnny Mercer who introduced me to Hoagy and my late husband who introduced me to Johnny.

Love Ray Charles doing Unchain My Heart.

I did my funny valentine on state and someone said that I should change
my name to Peggy Lee. Smile

today is Al's birthday, and here is a salute to him:

Now, Johnny Mathis does Poor Butterfly and it reminds me of Latin George's lovely bride.

Of course we all know that Latin George's lovely bride is Chinese:

Here is an instrumental version:

Now, the lyrics:

Chi-na-town, my Chi-na-town
Where the lights are low,
Hearts that know no oth-er land,
Drift-ing to and fro.
Dream-y dream-y Chi-na-town,
Al-mond eyes of brown,
Hearts seems light and life seems bright,
In dream-y Chi-na-town

I am not sure how actual Chinese people feel about songs like this, but, here are the Ames Brothers to sing about a China doll.

@edgarblythe,
Glad you are back here, Mr. Creator, and I love the Ames Brothers doing China Doll.

For some reason, y'all, I thought of dear Hank again. <sniff>

Odd, y'all, we'll know about the death of Hank. He may have been shot by a policeman.
Here's another mystery man.

I'll bet our creator will know something about him

While we await our creator's response, here's a birthday guy. Don't know him, but he is a great performer:

Hope all my friends will enter our radio station. Especially our creator.

Back later, dear friends, and I hope that I still have some.

Sorry about the mistakes on my messages as my key board is misbehaving.

Ah, well, saying good afternoon now.

As edgar knows, there really was a Lone Ranger but he was an Afro American lawman.

I knew the daughter of the doctor that examined Hank Williams when he died. It has been years since I thought about it. It was at first called a heart attack, but he had a combination of drugs and alcohol in his system. No bullet holes.

Although it really has nothing to do with this song, the phrase "China Doll"
is used by many Chinese to describe the stereotype of the submissive East
Asian woman.

@George,
I suspected. Of course, the song was written at a time when people here did not give it much thought.

Rufus Wainwright - Oh What A World
(with a little posthumous help from Maurice Ravel)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riJJbPdCxBY

Men reading fashion magazines
Oh what a world it seems we live in
Straight men, oh what a world we live in

Why am I always on a plane or a fast train
Oh what a world my parents gave me
Always traveling but not in love

Still I think I'm doing fine
Wouldn't it be a lovely headline?
"Life is Beautiful" on the New York Times

This song has been stuck in my head ever since I heard it again last Thursday. I don't even like it, but I can't help singing the bastard.

Good morning from a sunny but windless day here in our Florida radio station.

Hurry back dear friends. Wish I could comment on each contribution, but suffice it to say that they were a great combination of melodies.

Mr. creator, thanks for further info about Hank.

Let's listen to more, now:
