We don't want to miss Mel Gibson's birthday. I missed Latin George's We'll Sing in the Sunshine. Great one, dear friend.

Mel:

He did Hamlet and Brave heart.

@edgarblythe,
Shucks, Mark. I thought we had gotten rid of the rating system Rolling Eyes

Did an eruption of a volcano destroy the Mayans or did the Mayans destroy themselves?

Love to learn here.

Another historical moment, y'all:

@edgarblythe,
I read the book, Mark.

Love Tim Hardin doing Reason to Believe. Didn't know him, so once again thanks for the introduction.

Here's one to match Tim's song.

euroGeorge, Welcome back my Irish friend.

Lonely by America was great and often true.

Loved Something In the Way She Moves by the fab four.

Odd about Lonely, and more synchronicity. I thought Of Elenor Rigby and the first one that I ever heard by Hank Williams.

As you know I love the Emerald Isle.

going to say good afternoon with two songs, y'all.

First, for our East Indian friends. (they're all over the place here)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-DDknSzELI

Now, for our French friend, Olivier5. Hope he is alright.

Wonderful having England and Scotland with is over the past couple of days. and, of ourse, Ireland.

From Letty with love to all of you here yesterday and today

Morning All. How about a theatre review? Before film very few actors/actresses made enough of a name for themselves to last very long.

Quote:
Mr. Punch congratulates Mr. TOOLE upon his new situation at his own theatre, which suits him to a tea. Naturally it must, because it comes between his early dinner and his late supper. Mr. and Mrs. HERMAN MERRIVALE call their play a Domestic Comedy, and they have not chosen this description inappropriately, as assuredly the "Domestic" is the feature of the cast. Goog, however, as Mr. TOOLE certainly is, he receives admirable support from the clever and versatile Miss MARIE LINDEN, the thoroughly conscientious Miss EMILY THORNE, the intelligent and piquante Miss VIOLET VANBRUGH (a valuable recruit), the useful Mr. E. D. WARD, and the evergreen Mr. BILLINGTON. The Company work together with a will that quickly finds a way to the hearts of the audience. Judging from the houses that have been seen since the production of the new piece, The Butler during the present season will have a constant supply of Christmas Boxes, to say nothing of Stalls, Dress Circles, Pits, and Galleries.

From WIKI

Quote:
John Lawrence (J. L.) Toole (12 March 1830 – 30 July 1906) was an English comic actor, actor-manager and theatrical producer. He was famous for his roles in farce and in serio-comic melodramas in a career that spanned more than four decades. He was so famous in his day that he was the first actor to have a West End theatre named after him.

Good morning from our radio station here in Florida.

euroGeorge, Hurry back. Loved all three of those songs, dear friend, but I guess Billy Joel is my favorite.

Poor Karen C., Richard said that it was the forced feeding that caused her to have cardiac arrest. <sniff>

izz with a y, Thanks for that info on the funny guy. Loved it, my British friend. Rather reminded of Peter O Toole.(sp)

Today is Grimm's birthday, and I read every one of his fairy tales.

First, The Brothers Grimm:

Now, "the man in Black"

and, y'all, our hymn for Sunday:

@izzythepush,
Very much so, pushman. Fairy tales do have a philosophy, right? The Grimm Brothers were real.

I remember learning to play piano at a young age. More about that later.

Poor Frank, y'all. He was quite talented and had bi polar disorder.

A further explanation about playing the piano. I was very young and memorized all the melodies, so my Mamma sent me to a piano teacher named Miss Frances. She produced a sheet music song called From the Wigwam. I learned to play it because I was fascinated with American Indians.

My older sister explained to my Mamma that I played by ear. Of course, I thought it meant with my EAR. Then I finally learned what that meant.

Can't find the song, but maybe edgar will knowl it.

In a little honky tonk village in Texas,
There's a man who plays the best piano by ear,
He can play piano anyway that you like it,
And he always plays all night for pig feet and beer.
etc.
