Once again calling all musicians, poets, painters, music lovers and folks who like to chat.
I love this poem by John Donne, y'all:
Woman’s Constancy
NOW thou hast loved me one whole day,
To-morrow when thou leavest, what wilt thou say?
Wilt thou then antedate some new-made vow?
Or say that now
We are not just those persons which we were? 5
Or that oaths made in reverential fear
Of Love, and his wrath, any may forswear?
Or, as 1 true deaths true marriages untie,
So lovers’ contracts, images of those,
Bind but till sleep, death’s image, them unloose? 10
Or, your own end to justify,
For having purposed change and falsehood, you
Can have no way but falsehood to be true?
Vain lunatic, against these ’scapes I could
Dispute, and conquer, if I would;
Which I abstain to do,
For by to-morrow I may think so too.

I think the only person on this radio that is both a painter and a musician is J.L.Nobody, and I was reminded of this song. My Mamma loved The Mills Brothers so here is a great combination:
The devil rode on a big black stallion traveling in a cloud of rain
The drifter was his name
The drifter destroyed the hearts of women all across the land
He lives in the minds, i know, of every traveling man
I meet a gal every now and then who makes me want to live like other men
Deep down inside, i know it's time to tell the drifter: "ride!"
Here's my warning to other men: don't let your restless souls preachin'
Take a friendly tip from me, women will never set you free
The wind's my lover and drifter's my steed
The wind's my lover and drifter's my steed
The wind, the drifter, the devil an' me
We’ll ride together through all eternity
The devil rode on a big black stallion traveling in a cloud of rain
You know now that drifter, the drifter, drifter was his name
Now now… drifter destroys the hearts of women all across the land
But you make no mistake: he’s every man though, ev'ry travelin’ man…
Hi Letty. I hope you had a nice Xmas celebration. The devil is us, of course. The angel, too, I guess. :-)
Nouvelle Vague - Dance With Me
Nouvelle Vague is a bunch of (French) musicians who make accoustic covers of 80s and 90s Punk and New Wave songs ("nouvelle vague" means new wave): Joy Division, the Cure, etc... More a project than a band--the vocalists in particular change often. It's a bit of an easy listening approach to punk-rock... I'm a reluctant fan because their arrangements are sometimes quite beautiful.

edgar, thanks for your comment and personal acknowledgement. Love Bird on a Wire by Judy and written by Leonard. The visuals were beautiful.
Mon Ami, Dance with Me by Novella was wonderful, and thanks for saying my name as well.
Incidentally. Here's an explanation of Xmas.
It turns out, “Xmas” is not a non-religious version of “Christmas”. The “X” is actually indicating the Greek letter “Chi”, which is short for the Greek, meaning “Christ”. So “Xmas” and “Christmas” are equivalent in every way except their lettering.
Going to say good afternoon with The Four Freshmen. Great jazz group.
Morning All. Apologies to the ladies in advance. I don't choose the quotations I just transcribe them.
I am ashamed that women are so simple
To offer war where they should kneel for peace,
Or seek for rule, supremacy and sway,
When they are bound to serve, love and obey.
Taming Of The Shrew Act V Sc II
good morning from a foggy radio station here in Florida.
It's Tuesday here, Izz with a y. Yep, in some places there are ladies who quarrel and misbehave. Glad I'm not one of them
euroGeorge, it's wonderful to have you with us again. Hurry back, Ireland. John Lennon singing Happy Christmas , The War is Over was fantastic. Ah, dear John.
Anyone remember The Monkees? They are paying tribute to Davy Jones. I recall there having been a Davy Jones Locker, and it was liked to the devil and people who went overboard and drowned. (also Jonah)
