Looking back at happier times now. When my son was small, I told him to play on his harp, and he said: What's a harp? Smile

Once again calling all. Smile

Today is this fantastic writer's birthday.

Alexandre Davy de la Pailleterie, also known as Alexandre Dumas was a general in Revolutionary France and the highest-ranking mulatto man of all time in a European army.

Now a trailer to one of his novels:

Much of Dumas' work was done in collaborations, but he got all the credit. He knew best how to complete and polish them for the market.

@edgarblythe,
You're right, Mark. My long time friend Al (RIP) called him Alexander Dumass. Smile

Going to say good afternoon now as I'm not feeling too well.

First, one to match Sinatra and Dorsey:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eR1AbAYHdD0

It was written by Alexander Pope.

Now, for my long time friend Roger..

Ah, I was hoping our creator would restore our radio station.
Well, music is healing, y'all, so for those of you who need lightening up here are the great Mills Brothers.

@jcboy,
Morgan, Great seeing you once again in our Florida Radio Station.

Love Rihanna doing that dance. I used to dance the night away so long ago on Saturday.

Well, here's our poem for today. She walks, but I can picture her dancing, too. Smile

She Walks In Beauty - Poem by George Gordon Byron
She walks in Beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:

Odd, I must talk to our editor

Mark, welcome back to you as well, and I I loved I'm a Fool for love by LuLu

Once again calling all. I love music and poetry. As some guy once said, it is my passion.

Wonder where all the Georges are?

This one reminds me of Latin Georges' lovely bride:

@edgarblythe,
Mark, as you know, I love golden oldies. Thanks for your comment and personal acknowledgement, dear friend.

I love The Toys doing A Lover's Concerto.

Saying good afternoon now with two great ones:

Ah, I was hoping that our creator/Mark would keep us going. Hope he is alright.

Today is Kevin Spacey's birthday, so here is a tribute to that fantastic performer:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsAjxhHxH6I

I best remember him for Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, and here is the theme to that marvelous song.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQNnCYhCm0s

what a shock to find out that Hoagy Carmichael had written the music and Johnny Mercer the lyrics.

Hmmm, wonder where my Roman Catholic friend George is?

Here's our hymn for today. As edgar knows, one doesn't have to be
a theist to enjoy church music.

This on is inspired by neighbor across the street who has move with her family
to North Carolina. <miss you Sharon and Tim>
