@edgarblythe,
Love that one by Johnny, Mark. Here's another Johnny and the first one that I heard by the man in black.

@edgarblythe,
Mark, I remember Ira Hayes. Somehow, I associated him with this one, and I wonder if it was faked:

Well, everybody, while we await our creator's response, I'm saying good late afternoon with a dove and a hawk:

I think most of us know that the hawk is a sign for war and the dove a sigh for peace

Some call that photo a fake, but I don't look at it that way. The photographer took a photo as the soldiers raised the flag and then had them repose it, to make it more photogenic. I can't see denigrating something as iconic as that.

Yesterday my sons and I went canoeing for the first time this season. It was
a perfect day for it. This may be the last time my youngest join us for a
while. He is off to grad school.

So let's play river songs tonight. Roll on.

As true of politicians now as then, the issue discussed is almost irrelevant.

Quote:
Apology for Second Thoughts
(by one who, from constantly studying the subject, has become slightly mixed).
What if the ex-Premier some six years ago, when at the head of affairs, made charges against the Parnellites which he has since disavowed ? Every Statesman while in office, is apt to make strong statements which he sees occasion to contradict afterwards as soon as he "finds himself out!"

Good sunny morning here in our Florida radio station.
Mark, I always appreciate your take on history mysteries. I agree with you.

Latin George, Thanks for your comment, and Proud Mary, Dirty Water, and our tour through Boston water was great. You hurry back as well.

Pullman, politics also breeds strange vocabulary as well. Smile

More synchronicity because I awakened this morning with this beautiful song stuck in my head:

and, y'all, in honor of Sally Ride.

@edgarblythe,
You're right about Al, Mark. Jackie Wilson and Van Morrison reminded me of this one:

There really was a baby born at ST. James. The sweet baby girl lived around
thirty eight minutes and then died.

Today is Jay Silver Heels' birthday, but first some info:

Jay Silverheels was a First Nations actor. He was well known for his role as Tonto, the faithful Native American companion of the character, The Lone Ranger in a long-running American western television series.

Once again, calling all poets, musicians, music lovers talkers teachers and friends.

edgar and know that the real Lone Ranger was Afro American:

Well, it's high noon here so let's listen to Gary Cooper. Incidentally, he says "his'n" to rhyme with prison.

I was trying to recall who played Tonto on the radio. I will look it up.

On the radio, Tonto was played by, among others, John Todd and Roland Parker; and in the television series, by Jay Silverheels, who was a Mohawk from the Six Nations Indian Reserve in Ontario, Canada.

edgar,/Mark, Thanks for all that information. You are our encyclopedia, Texas. Didn't know that Harve Pernell did They Call the Wind Meriah. (sp) Someone or our forum has a daughter named Mariah.

Sorry if I missed any of your contributions, dear friend. Having some problems here.

Two birthday folks for today. First, a tribute to Peggy Lee:

Now, the only movie that John Wayne won an academy award for. I read that book, y'all.

@Letty,
I am a lifelong fan of Peggy Lee.
I always figured John Wayne deserved at least four or five of those awards.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for your comment and for saying my name, edgar/Mark.

Loved Garth Brooks doing the Dance, buddy.

I tried to find this one by Bob Wills, but couldn't find a good version, so here is Patsy Cline:
