Two great memories for me. Bonny and Clyde was on last evening. Smile

and, remembering George Shearing at the Embers in New York. Here he is in Japan:
"Have you ever heard two turtle doves" reminds me of The Yitwails. <sniff> and the concert in Japan, another fond memory of Satt Fs. <sniff>

Separatism as relevant today, (Scotland and the EU) as then (Ireland and Empire.) Punch has consistently used Macbeth as an analogy for the Irish question. There's also a cartoon showing that young women's career choices are dominated by a desire to find a husband, an attitude still held in some quarters. Not sure who Smith was but a certain W H Smith did briefly serve as Chief Secretary for Ireland before becoming First Lord Of The treasury and Leader Of The House Of Commons.

He also was seen as the inspiration for Sir Joseph Porter in HMS Pinafore.

Latin George, we all know that Latin is a dead language, but I like the revival of it. edgar/Mark, I believe in yesterday as well. Thanks for yout comment.

Funny French toast song, George and that guy who reminded me of Mr. Dredlocks was great doing "the rapper".

You hurry back as well Izz with a y. Love that guy doing Never, Never, mal de mer.

Well, I broke my fast in the dark of the night because I was afraid that the awful thunder and lightning storm would knock our my electricity. The prediction was wrong; all it did was rain.

Good morning, song. Smile

I talked to my animals all the time when I was young, so let's listen to dear Bobby do it again.

Hope I didn't miss anyone. Lack of sleep makes me tongue tied.

@Letty,
> that guy who reminded me of Mr. Dredlocks was great doing "the rapper".

That is Yannick Noah. Music is his second career. He's a former pro tennis
player. He won the 1983 French Open in 1983.

edgar/Mark, I had no idea that Bobby did A Nightingale Sang in Berkely Square. Thanks for the song and the info, my friend.

George, I didn't know that about the Noah man. Thanks for the clarification, my friend.

Speaking of Noah: Here is a kids' song:

Today is Fats Waller's birthday and I loved that man singing Ain't Misbehaving. It reminds me of that tall navy guy who told me:

You behave yourself, and I responded:

I don't have to behave myself. Smile

Here's a tribute to Fats:

@edgarblythe,
edgar/Mark, Thanks for your comment on Noah, and for saying my name.

Dinah Washington's No Body's Bizness as a tribute to Fats was great.

Well, here's another birthday guy: Raymond Burr, but first a memory jog:

Raymond William Stacey Burr was a Canadian-American actor, primarily known for his title roles in the television dramas Perry Mason and Ironside.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAQnaLOjC3o

I remember Don Galloway from Old Ironsides because he's the one who
pulled aside a curtain on Telerama and said:

Pardon me Roy, is that the cat that ate your new shoes. Then I discovered that he starred in Old Ironsides and had died.

Love The Bee Gee's doing Staying Alive, Mark. Hope you liked T for Texas.I once told someone that I was a B.G. Smile

I know that Creedence did this for the Devil and Daniel Webster, but found out that it was also about The Vietnam War.
