Once again calling all poets, musicians, music lovers and painters.

Well, y'all, it is actually warm here now.

Remembering The Embers in New York. Here is the fabulous George:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xglZFKO_WnU

and, the lyrics:
The shadow of your smile when you are gone,
Will color all my dreams and light the dawn,
Look into my eyes my love and see
All the lovely things you are to me

Our wistful little star was far too high
A teardrop kissed your lips and so did I
Now when I remember spring, all the joy that love can bring,
I will be remembering, the shadow of your smile.

@edgarblythe,
Well, Mark, that black horse fly was not what I thought and it reminded me of Blackboard Jungle which was on TCM the other night. To Sir With Love was beautiful.
Ah, The Everly Brothers doing Born to Lose was sad but great.

Saying good afternoon with Sidney:

Great to have England and France with us today.

Asa - Fire On the Mountain

There is fire on the mountain
And nobody seems to be on the run
Oh there is fire on the mountain top
And no one is running

I wake up in the morning
Tell you what I see on my TV screen
I see the blood of an innocent child
And everybody's watching

Now I'm looking out my window
And what do I see
I see an army of a soldier man
Marching across the street

Hey Mr. soldier man
Tomorrow is the day you go to war
But you are fighting for another man's cause
And you don't even know him

What did he say to make you so blind
To your conscience and reason
Could it be love for your country
Or for the gun you use in killing

There is fire on the mountain
And nobody seems to be on the run
Oh there is fire on the mountain top
And no one is running

Hey Mr. Lover man
Can I get a chance to talk to you
Cause you are fooling with a dead man's corpse
And you don't know what you do

So you say you have a lover
And you love her like no other
So you buy her a diamond
That someone has died on
Don't you think there's something wrong with this?

Tell me who's responsible
For what we teach our children?
Is it the internet?
Or the stars on television?
Why o why o

So little Lucy turns sixteen
And like the movie she's been seeing
She has a lover in her daddy
She can't tell nobody
'Til she makes the evening news

There is fire on the mountain
And nobody seems to be on the run
Oh there is fire on the mountain top
And no one is running

One day the river will over flow
And there'll be nowhere for us to go
And we will run, run
Wishing we had put out the fire

Morning All.

This is my birthday.
Julius Caesar Act V Sc I

For though the camomile, the more it is trodden on, the faster it grows, yet youth, the more it is wasted, the sooner it wears.

Good morning from our radio station here in Florida.

Latin George, Great songs, my friend, especially enjoyed Stevie doing Pride and Joy. I only watch TCM and TNT movies now. They are still the best. Sidney Poitier was the first person of color to win an academy award for that one.

Olivier5, I truly enjoyed Fire on the Mountain, Mon Ami.

Izz with a y, Happy Birthday Julius. At first, I thought you meant it was YOUR birthday. I recall Miss Izzie doing a birthday thread for you and that is why I like to call you Izz with a y.

Two songs for the morning here. First, inspired by my Latin friend, this one:

Now, Sir Elton again:

Julius Caesar is dead at the end of Act III, so it's not him. I googled it, and it's Cassius' birthday.

It's a pretty weird thing to choose for a quotation though.

@izzythepush,
Ah, dear friend, I remember Cassius saying:
The fault dear Brutus lies not in the stars, but in ourselves.

How about a Christmas Carol for Wodin's day, y'all

@Letty,
I couldn't take you there without looking it up. And I don't think I've ever been, unless it was when I was a kid and I can't remember.

Whenever I go to London I park up near this place.

@izzythepush,
You sent me searching once again.

Is this the place, Pushman?

The Apollo Theatre is a Grade II listed West End theatre, on Shaftesbury Avenue in the City of Westminster, in central London.

They did Phantom of the Opera there.

While I await our Brit's response, I am thinking about Twinkle, Twinkle Killer Kane.

Once again calling all musicians, music lovers, painters and poets:

Our poem for today:

Barry Taylor
Angel horses flap their wings
High above the winter night.
Far below an angel sings
Of peace and joy, of love and light.

Down, down, down the horses fly,
Down through stars, across the moon,
Down through clouds and cold, dark sky
To where the angel sings her tune.

And there the angel horses wait,
Listening to her song of love,
Far from home and Heaven's gate,
Far from sweet green fields above,

Listening to the angel's song,
So beautiful it makes them weep,
Hovering over us all night long
While we are fast asleep.

@edgarblythe,
Love that one by Paul, Mark. Speaking of Harlem, I think that was Mike Hammer's theme. Check it out when you get the chance.

Pitch black here so I'm saying goodnight with two songs:

First, Bobby does a cover of Mr. Doolittle:

Now, dear George Harrison:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kNGnIKUdMI

Don't know where he sang that, however.

From Letty with love to everyone here.
