Yeah, 'k, Mrs Timber is a Slovak ... her mom was a War Bride. Mrs Timber isn't much for the bar scene though. A couple glasses of wine and she's ready for a serious nap ... and whiskey makes her mean ... real, downright mean ... even The Puppies get out of her way. Doesn't last long though; the nap sets in mercifully quickly. She's no fun at all when she's hungover, either. Fortunately, that's real rare.
I think whiskey does that, or makes you sick - maybe this is a female viewpoint! So have you got a rounded, red Pinot Noir for me this evening, Timberlandko?
Funny thing, Mrs. cav is actually friendlier when she's had some whiskey. Can't handle beer though....that is strange to me.
When I was working at Michael Statdlander's Eiginsinn Farm, his folks were staying there. They only spoke German, and I don't speak a lick. So...opa and I were given the task to plant some vegetables. A storm was brewing, and pa decided that a few shots of plum schnapps would help us deal with the wind and rain. Well, I think I had three, and he had at least eight, and we went out to plant. We used tethered string to line up the beds, and I went on his suggestions on how to place it, as I didn't know much about farming at that point. We completed our task with what seemed like great success. A few weeks later, when the plants started to bud, Michael took a look and said "Hmmm...why are they all crooked?"
The only thing alcoholic The Lovely Bride will drink is Asti Spumanti - and not much of that. I have therefore taken upon myself the family drinking duties.
Somebody's gotta do it...
...a man's got to do what a man's got to do...
...take one for the team...
And a toast to: Bruno, my second son, who today has completed all his final exams at Oxford University!!! YAYAY! May the champagne run in torrents!!!
I'll drink to that. <hiccup>
(Raises glass) "To Bruno"
