They will have clonettes. I wonder if the next step in cloning will be to have the gestation period out of womb?
Steve:
When clones start to breed?
Good question. Science suggests that the progeny will have greatly reduced life spans and there is the excellent possibility of intense accumulation of recessive genes.
The State of Florida wants to investigate the possibility of the clone have been born severly disabled and now in need of social services.
Well the Raelians say its the start of eternal life. But probably they're wrong.
But its a good money making scam, almost as good as starting your own religion.
Fingerprints won't be the same and neither would retinas, so you couldn't go around illegally breeding clones to fool security devices. Also, there is no separate legal status for a 'clone', so if a live birth is recorded that individual has all the rights of any other infant.
Personally, this whole thing is a giant fraud - on par with the cold fusion fiasco. By organising things to happen in foreign nations they have merely made it impossible for those who have handed over their money to sue Clonaid. I have a horrible suspicion that if they did analyse the child's DNA they would find that it was the result of plain ol' IVF.
They're looking for new members for their religion.
Nothing more...nothing less.
