perhaps you can inform us all as to what application you are referring? There are hundreds of applications with a chat feature.

If you are talking about Facebook, they can be signed in and can post without having the chat turned on. That's how my privacy is set 99% of the time. It isn't anyone else's business as to when I am online and I often have no desire to turn on the chat box when I am. Posting on FB serves the need just fine.


Most other apps have similar privacy settings.
