Many who oppose Bush's anti terrorist policies would have supported them if he had gone after bin Laden and his organization and left the status quo alone in Iraq. I reluctantly supported the initial invasion of Afghanistan, though I had reservations about Bush and crew's ability to handle it. I had a bad taste in my mouth from Bush allowing the bin Laden family to leave America just as fast as they could be hustled out. I also knew that Afgh. had already thwarted Russian efforts and I figured that it probably could never be truly pacified. Just knock them out and get out, was my thinking. I still wonder why they didn't commit to a continued all-out effort there, instead of moving 'most everything to Iraq.
