@terri6161,
First make sure the med is to be given in ml rather than tabs and there's no other data. They say you are to give 400,000 in ml orally. So 800,000/5= 400,000/x. This is simply enough to do in your head...don't let all the zeroes fool you. I won't give you the answer ...; )

@Germlat,
Germlat, do you have any concern we're helping people get certification to do the sort of figuring we're being asked to answer? Sometimes I admit it worries me.

@bobsal u1553115,
No ...I was simply giving a school kid a clue...didn't give the answer ...just the equation. I doubt this is for a certification. My guess was high-school.

It doesn't say that. She said 400,000 U (units)

1 unit of U-40 insulin is 0.025 ml in a regular syringe

1 unit of U-100 insulin is 0.01 ml in a regular syringe

@chai2,
I understood it as an oral dose in liquid ml. Your welcome to provide a solution.

@chai2,
It's NOT insulin. That would be an entirely different story. I'm not a nurse but in microbiology ...I'm just fine at simple math equations. I was actually contemplating wether the V meant 5.no...don't think so....meant via.

@Germlat,
The point I was making was that U(nits) don't equal ml. That was a cut and paste off a website showing a formula.

No, I don't want to solve it.

She can do her own homework

@chai2,
Read between the lines...not complex...don't criticize someone without giving a an equation. ...little nurse. Don't have to cut and paste.. It's simple high-school stuff....not even college stuff.

@Germlat,
I do know I don't understand what you meant.

"What?" was a question asking you what you meant.

Oh wait, I see you edited your post after your initial reply, adding on about the cut and paste and high school stuff.

Not that it makes what you're saying any clearer to me.

All I am saying is the U doesn't convert to the same number as ml.

@Germlat,
Neither am I.

I'm not arguing at all....why are you trying to instigate?

I'm just asking what you meant in your previous comment, as I don't understand what your meaning was.
