6 month loss.. please help me engineers

i have completed my btech degree in electronics and communication with cgpa 6.91 but i could not clear one of my 6th semester subjects back exam held in 8th sem. so i got a 6 month loss..i have to apply for that exam on december 2014.. is my career ruined? will i be able to apply for any job after clearing my back?
