how do i meet people on skype?

i was browsing how to meet new people and i came across http://skype.com and decided to install it.

i've used messengers before like yahoo messenger and aol, but those messengers have chats. i don't think skype has a skype chat feature where i can just join a chat and mingle with strangers.

so does anyone have any tips how to meet new skype friends?

Have you tried looking at the linked site you posted? The info is right there listed in the features of Skype.
