spendi - the very nice statue is marble or some other fine grained stone and is situated outside the Belvedere Castle in the city of Vienna, Austria.
I have, as you may have noticed, reorganized my avatar to reflect something more "course" of course. The sandpaper advertised is # 1 grit - which consists of 1 inch diameter stones adhered to a stiff paper. I thought you might appreciate that.
